This friendly, family-run joint in Barcelona’s El Raval neighbourhood is a Cutre Crawler winner for its good food, happy staff and eclectic décor (think framed pictures of Spiderman and CF Barcelona alongside a neat collection of antiques).
Conveniently placed between the MACBA and Las Ramblas, Masia is a nice quirky place to linger over a couple of beers and a snack. Or tapas. Snackas. We’re patenting that word. Snackas.
Nice selection of tapas and sandwiches. Also, for those of our readers too lazy to choose their own dinner, Masia offers a number of good value set selections of house tapas.
1 Chistorra sandwich (chistorra is a kind of spicy sausage typical of the north of Spain)
1 Squid ring sandwich (ok, yes, we are fans of the calamares)
Friendly and easygoing with possibly the best-coiffed barman in the world.
Great personality, welcoming staff.
Cañas served in hi-ball glasses. We don’t know why but we just don’t like it.
Address: Calle Elisabets, 16
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 0900 to 0030
Website: Sorry, Masia is too cool for the internet
